Linda Carson, Class of 1966, was among the first young women to compete in organized sports at Sky View High School—playing basketball, softball, and track before girls’ athletics were formally recognized by the state. After graduation, she earned a degree in physical education from Utah State University and went on to teach and coach for more than 30 years. Her leadership helped expand girls’ athletic opportunities across northern Utah schools, and she was instrumental in implementing Title IX programming at the local level. Known for her tenacity and kindness, Linda has inspired generations of female athletes to find confidence through sport.
